CAGS: Skip Shift Eliminator

As soon as I planned to buy a Corvette I planned to get rid of the CAGS if I did nothing else. I tend to drive my car conservatively when I am not getting after it and I don't really want to be forced to make the 1-4 shift every time I do so. Well, as it turned out the original owner of the car had quickly taken care of the problem himself. I'd love to show you the installation, but since the part was already on the car when I bought it, that would be a no go. Who knows though, sometime I might get in there and “reinstall it” just for educational purposes. So for now, the only proof that I have of the install is the receipt. Note that the second image has a set of instructions for installing the part, it is a relatively straight forward install so for many reading this it will be adequate Just for fun, here is a picture of the receipt and packaging. Again, I can't echo enough how lucky I was to find a car so well documented. As always, click any image for a larger view.

*Note: CAGS is the system that Chevrolet put in place to help meet EPA standards and “improve” fuel mileage. Most, if not all, Corvette and F-Body owners find it to be a large pain in the butt… whether you are performance oriented or not.
